These Black Limba platters started there life as a lonely short cut off sitting in the corner of the lumber yard. The 40 inch long x 22 inch wide x 1 3/4 inch thick board might have made a nice top for a small end table but the yard attendant said it had been sitting there for a pretty long time with no real interest. Seeing the potential I snatched it up and brought it home to have a new life as 2 platters and numerous small blanks. Several hours later I had these 2 gorgeous platters and a bunch of wood shavings on the floor to clean up.

The first of the platters is 19 1/2 inches I diameter and stands 1 1/2 inches tall. I gave it an extra wide rim with a raised detail on the inside edge of the rim. The bottom has a foot that I added some texture details to dress it up. This platter is currently up for sale on my etsy page.
The second platter is 16 inches in diameter and stands 1 1/2 inches tall. This platter also has a extra wide rim but no detail around it. The bottom has a foot with a little detail work to dress it up.
